My Philosophy

The following are some of my beliefs that relate to creating brilliant health for women and help guide the care that I provide:

  • Women are the guardians of health in our world. We are natural nurturers. We are born to care for our kids, our families and our communities. Eighty percent of the consumers of functional medicine are female. When men have made their way to see me, it was usually because a woman encouraged them to do so. Our medical system is changing and women are leading the revolution.

  • You are the ultimate authority on what is best for you. When we work together, I am your partner on your path to health. I am here to educate and guide you, but I will not make decisions for you. You are the one who will decide what direction to go, and you are the ultimate authority on your health.

  • Your health is your most valuable asset. When we think of assets, we usually think of things like property, vehicles, possessions - things that can pay us back later if we take care of and invest in them now. The truth is, your health is the same way. The more you invest in your health now, the better your health will be later. Neglecting this most important asset may prevent you from enjoying all of your other assets in the future.

  • Your beliefs create your reality when it comes to your health. This means that you will only ever be as healthy as you believe possible. There is no reason you can’t be as vital at 80 as you were at 20 years of age. I know this to be true. Do you?

  • Healthcare should be about creating true vitality, not just the absence of disease.  Would you rather feel OK or vitally alive? When you mask and repress symptoms with drugs you allow the unhealthy processes creating those symptoms to continue unabated and cause bigger problems down the line.

  • Health is a journey, not a destination. There is no finish line when it comes to your health. Your health is like the steady hand of a sculptor, your body the work of art. They can always be improved and always get better. Vitality is an exciting lifelong journey of learning and continuous improvement, and true health is created in the present moment, one decision at a time.

Women are the guardians of health in our world.

  • As Einstein originally stated, “You will never be able to solve a problem with the same consciousness that created it.” The health problems you have now are problems that have occurred within your current mindset. If what you are doing right now isn’t working, you have to open your mind and look for better answers. When you change your mindset, you change your health and life.

  • Getting healthy requires effort. Just like maintaining your house or relationships, if you want to get the most out of your body, it’s going to require effort, motivation, and commitment.

  • Your body is designed to heal itself naturally.  When you remove all the barriers to that happening, give it the proper tools that it needs, and balance the systems it will do just that.  In short, I believe in bad stuff out, good stuff in and balance everything.
